When I decided to propose to the love of my life, the search for an engagement ring wasn't straightforward.
While the more traditional view of an engagement ring, centered on it being an investment worth several salaries, for us, it was a different story. Instead of focusing solely on highest luxury and investment offered by mined diamond brands, our priority lied in the sentimental value of the ring. Furthermore, true luxury, in our eyes, had never been measured by material possessions, but rather by experiences the opportunity to travel, explore, and appreciate the world, and make it a better place. With this perspective, we decided to seek alternatives to traditional diamonds that not only reflect our values but also align with our shared financial goals.
In my search, I discovered lab-grown diamonds. Identical to mined ones in every aspect, including hardness and durability, yet created in an ethical manner without harming the Earth or relying on child labor. However, finding a retailer or an e-commerce that offered non-mass-produced designs or customization at a reasonable price and timeframe proved challenging. After scouring the whole Middle East region, I found that lab-grown diamonds were limited in availability, and where were available, were limited in shape and size, with prices often inflated by brands.
Driven by this realization, my fiance (now wife) and I decided to step in. We created The Diamond Oasis to offer sustainable, diverse, and reasonably priced diamond jewelry to like-minded individuals and couples. It became clear that our generation values luxury differently, prioritizing conscious, clean, reasonably priced, and unique jewelry pieces.
